Black Sheep Racing Wraps Up 2025 Campaign on a High Note at Road Atlanta

Black Sheep Racing brought its 2025 Porsche Sprint Challenge North America season to a close at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta, where team owner and sole driver Laura Ely capped off the year with two determined drives in the highly competitive 992 Masters class.

The 2.54-mile, 12-turn Georgia circuit, one of the most iconic and demanding road courses in the world, served as the backdrop for a finale that tested both pace and perseverance. Ely arrived carrying momentum from a standout run at Watkins Glen and turned that confidence into another weekend of progress.

In qualifying, Ely set consistent lap times that placed her 11th in class for both Race One and Race Two. Starting in the thick of a crowded grid, she put herself in position to move forward and prove once again the steady improvements she’s made throughout the season.

From the drop of the green flag, Ely made her presence felt. In Friday’s Race One, she charged from 11th in class to secure an eighth-place finish, battling through traffic and refusing to give up ground. Saturday’s finale brought even fiercer competition, but Ely stayed composed, fought cleanly, and brought home tenth in class to lock in back-to-back top-ten results.

Both races ended under yellow flags, but Ely’s ability to stay out of trouble and execute consistently highlighted the strides she’s made over the season. Her results at Road Atlanta served as a fitting conclusion to a year defined by determination, growth, and resilience.

“I’m really proud of what we’ve accomplished this season from our first weekend at Sebring where we left 13th in the 992 Masters championship and now finishing the season, seventh overall in the 992 Masters championship,” commented Ely. “The team gave me a great car, and racing at a track as historic as Road Atlanta was an amazing way to finish the year. Bringing home two top-ten results feels like the right way to close out the season, and it gives us a strong foundation to build on moving forward.”

Following the conclusion of the event weekend, Laura Ely was awarded the “Yokohama Apex-n-Award” for making the most passes for position over the complete season, a great ending to a solid season.
