Super Tour @ Circuit of the Americas

Hi, this is Josh Hansen and I am looking forward to an event filled season. I will be running a couple of Miatas with Advanced Autosports, and at select events a Spec Racer Ford Gen 3 with Elite Autosport. I will be starting off my season with a Hoosier Super Tour race at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas. At this race, I'm going to be running in the Spec Miata class and the STL class in a Spec MX-5 Miata. We will be running the Spec MX-5 car that will be used as pre-season testing for the Spec Mx-5 Challenge series. This series is going to introduce a lot of new tracks and competitors to me, I look forward to the challenge.

Season Outlook

The portion of the series that I am going to be running includes five race weekends with 10 races total. These races include: Virginia International Raceway (March 17-20), Mid-Ohio (May 26-29), Road America (July 7-10), Daytona (August 4-7), and the finale is at the Circuit of the Americas (Date TBD). This event-filled schedule will lead to a lot of opportunities, and I plan to take advantage of every single one. I am hoping to get a bid for the Mazda Scholarship program at the end of the season.

For now, I am looking forward to the Hoosier Super Tour at COTA, running in the Spec Miata and the Spex MX-5 car. We are using this weekend mostly as testing for the Spec MX-5 (as stated above), but it is still going to be a fun and competitive weekend in the Spec Miata. The Spec Miata field grows every year and the field numbers that this class is putting out is absolutely amazing. Last year at the 2021 RunOffs at Indianapolis there were over 120 Miata entries, and they had to thin the field down to 72 people. Talk about a wild field to run in. The Spec Miata is the one I’m hoping to qualify well in and stay in front of all the shenanigans that will happen in the middle to back of the pack. That will hopefully put me in a good enough spot to drive away with the lead pack, and hopefully find myself standing on the podium. That's the goal for Spec Miata in the COTA weekend. In the Spec MX-5, we are simply looking forward to track time and good data intel that will help us go faster for the next time we are at that track.

Opportunities in 2022

With such a busy season coming up, the financial aspect of racing is becoming more and more intimidating. This is the stage of my racing career where I need some outside help. That is why for the 2022 season I'm looking to bring on board sponsors. I want to be a brand ambassador for your company. Through social media and live streaming of the race weekends, your brand will be seen by many eyes throughout the course of the season, or just at a couple races. I want to make the most of this season, the more financial freedom we have, the better the season will go; through better equipment, and better data analysis. I look forward to joining the E.C. Sports Management team, and look forward to the successes that they will bring me this season. We will be working on a campaign to develop business partners for the 2022 season and we would love to have your brand along for the ride.

Until then, I’ll see you in Austin, Texas for the Super Tour Race. It's going to be a fun and exciting weekend and I can't wait to tell you about it afterwards!
