Wagner & Gonzalez Triumph at Barber Motorsports Park, Eyes on Season Finale

Gresham Wagner, Toyota Development Driver and EC Sports Management client, teamed up with Tyler Gonzalez to take victory in Race No. 3 of the Pirelli GT4 America SprintX at Barber Motorsports Park on September 7. Wagner made the decisive move on a restart with about 18 minutes remaining, overtaking Tony Gaples of Blackdog Speed Shop and pulling away to secure the win. For Wagner and Gonzalez, this marked their second victory of the season

The race had its share of drama: early on, Matheus Leist in the NOLAsport Porsche encountered a flat tire that forced him into the pits and left him a lap down. Meanwhile, Gonzalez, who had started from Silver pole in his GR Supra, was battling to stay in contention until the restart. When the caution was cleared and cars shuffled, Wagner capitalized by passing Gaples and then held strong in the lead. “With the caution, [the race] went from management to having to ace the restart and build a gap on my own,” Wagner said. “When I looked back after the first couple of laps, I had a bit of a buffer, so I just had to bring the car home.”

They crossed the finish line 4.533 seconds ahead of Matt Bell and Alex Vogel of OnlyFans Racing/P1 Groupe. Behind them, Braden Arthur and Mike David Ortmann grabbed third, followed by Jonathan Neudorf and Jesse Webb. In the Silver category, Gonzalez and Wagner dominated by 10.071 seconds over Arthur and Ortmann, while Neudorf and Webb took third.

With the 2025 SprintX season heading into its final weekend at the iconic Indianapolis Motor Speedway (October 16-19), Wagner and his team are gearing up for one more shot at glory. As the season finale looms, EC Sports Management is currently seeking sponsorship partners to join Wagner’s campaign at Indianapolis. This finale undercard event with the Indianapolis 8 Hour represents a prime opportunity for visibility alongside one of racing’s rising talents.
